Tired of shooting on the seamless we decided to go to a corner and play with colors. I should have moved more lights over so we could have had more shooting possibilities. Oh well there is always next time!

Iona Hair & Makeup Shoot

Welcome Iona, this was her first shoot!! A little nervous but that is never a problem!! She came with the fabulous makeup and hair stylist Alanna. Believe it or not this is Alanna’s younger sister! Tons of fun being with these crazy kids! This cute and silly girl always has a very contagious smile! Hope to see her in the studio again sometime soon!

Ms Sosa Shoot

I met the stunning & beautiful Ms Sosa the other day and had the opportunity to photograph her. I bet you would never guess that she is 3 months pregnant!! Amazing right!!?! I can’t wait to get her back into the studio for some pregnancy portraits, this is going to be great!! Hopefully I helped a bit and her photos are more than expected!

Hair and Makeup

Alanna, my MUA/Hair Stylist buddy ( beautyoncall@gmail.com ) needed some images for her hair portfolio for school. I forget what school she goes to but I do remember that it is one of the bigger schools in Philadelphia. Part of her school training involves her styling hair all day for customers and she gets no pay! That’s pretty crazy, but I guess you gotta pay your dues to get into the biz! Well back on topic, Alanna brought over a friend so she could get some images for school. The other students handed in Polaroid shots and disposable camera photos for their assignment. I told Alanna we can do better than that!

Photo Shoot – Edgar

Shoot with Edgar came out a success! Couldn’t keep this guys shirt on, tried duct tape and it still kept flying off!! Haha jk, but anyways I’m glad there were no ladies around because he would be in trouble!! He had the idea to take some photos on the floor, at first I was thinking it wouldn’t be a good idea and I was being lazy (did not want to reposition the lights). Glad I got over my laziness because many of the floor shots came out pretty nice!

If you ever work with me better tell me to “STOP BEING LAZY!!”

Hair and Makeup

Took some portfolio images for my friend (and makeup artist) Alanna. She goes to cosmetology school and needs some photos for her class. I didn’t want her to have to settle for turning in snap shots with disposable camera so I hooked her up with some semi-great photos by meee! She is going to bring over more girls and do their hair and makeup for more of her assignments. Hopefully she gets good grades and her teachers like the images! Well here they are!

I tried some different editing techniques to change things up a little.
I don’t know if I like the originals better or the edits better so I just put them both up!

New Studio Space!

Shortly after we moved here to the city we met this guy named Ralph. The first time we met, he had us laughing our butts off!! Somehow he found a good deal on a big loft that is being converted into studio space, and since he knows I’m in need of a place to shoot he is giving me keys and 100% full 24/7 access, so basically the studio is also mine! My contribution to the studio is to help teach about photography and be involved in making the place successful!!! Also I am making the website for the loft.  I will also rent my equipment to other photographers for their shoots, just hoping this plan is successful and not a disaster!  And we will probably be doing workshops if we get interest.

UPDATE: Here is a photo of what the new studio looks like, it’s 100% bare empty with the exception of my lights and backdrops + a couch bed that Ralph and I had to carry up 3 steep flights of stairs. Never doing that again!!!
